Gaming Corps Secures Strategic Partnership with Veikkaus as Finland Gears Up for Market Transformation

Key Moments:

  • Gaming Corps has entered a content deal with Veikkaus ahead of Finland’s 2027 shift to a license-based gambling system.
  • The partnership will begin with slots from Gaming Corps and may expand to include a broader mix of game types.
  • Veikkaus serves nearly 2.7 million registered users and has started adapting for the upcoming market changes.

Strategic Collaboration Targets Finnish Market Changes

Sweden-based Gaming Corps, a publicly traded gaming developer, has formed a significant content partnership with Veikkaus, Finland’s government-controlled gaming company. This move arrives as both organizations prepare for the anticipated transition to a competitive, license-based gambling market in Finland in 2027.

Phased Content Rollout and Potential Expansion

At launch, the agreement will see Veikkaus integrate Gaming Corps’ expanding slots library, featuring established titles, unique gameplay features, and recognizable intellectual property. Over time, there is scope for the partnership to evolve, allowing Veikkaus access to table games, mine games, plinko, multiplier products, and proprietary offerings such as Smash4Cash, A-MAZE-CADES, and X-MY-WAY.

A prominent part of this slots portfolio is the 3 Pigs series, one of Gaming Corps’ most successful brands. This franchise features a recurring cast presented through diverse themes and game mechanics.

Veikkaus Position and Market Preparation

Veikkaus has been central to Finland’s gaming landscape for over 85 years and currently boasts close to 2.7 million registered players. The company’s product suite covers lottery, sports betting, iCasino, and instant games, and its digital platform, veikkaus.fi, ranks among Finland’s top e-commerce websites. In addition to its digital reach, Veikkaus operates Casino Helsinki and manages 44 gaming arcades throughout the nation.

This collaboration aligns with a major regulatory shift set for July 1, 2027, when Finland will transition to a license-based system for online casino and betting, which will end Veikkaus’ exclusive rights in these areas. Veikkaus has already started preparing for this new market structure by building relationships with suppliers, including this new alliance with Gaming Corps.

Executive Perspectives

Graham Greensmith, chief commercial officer at Gaming Corps, said: “Veikkaus is one of the most established names in European gaming, with an extraordinary reach and relationship with players in Finland. The market is now approaching one of the biggest changes in its history, so this is a particularly exciting time for us to begin working together.

“What stands out for us most is the chance to add something very different to the Veikkaus portfolio. We’ve built Gaming Corps around variety, with inventive mechanics, fresh concepts and a broad mix of gameplay experiences. That breadth can be a real advantage as competition in Finland increases.”

Riikka Seppänen, vice president, icasino at Veikkaus, said: “Gaming Corps has been superb to work with, delivering its content in record time and with real precision. That speed and execution is hugely valuable to us, and their arrival comes at a great time as we continue preparing for the changes ahead in Finland.

“They bring a strong and distinctive slots portfolio that fits well with what we’re looking to achieve and we’re super excited to get the games live and in front of our players.”
